The Winners of Wiki Loves Bangla 2025

The Winners of Wiki Loves Bangla 2025

Winners of Wikimedia’s international photo contest Wiki Loves Bangla 2025 (or Banglar Preme Wiki 2025) have been announced. Organised by Bangla WikiMoitree as part of the Bangla Culture and Heritage Collation Program, a collaborative effort between Wikimedia Bangladesh and the West Bengal Wikimedians User Group, this month-long competition was held from 1 March to 10 April 2025.

Following a rigorous two-stage review by our dedicated evaluators and a final three-stage assessment by the jury, we are proud to reveal this year’s winning photographs. These exceptional images not only celebrate Bengal’s biodiversity but will also serve to visually enrich Wikimedia Commons and bird-related articles across Wikipedia in the years to come.

This year, the competition turned its lens toward the vibrant avian life of Bengal, encouraging participants to capture and share freely licensed images that document the region’s natural heritage. With 191 participants submitting over 1,800 photographs, the contest revealed an inspiring variety of bird species in their natural habitats—soaring, nesting, hunting, or simply basking in the wild.

And we are ready to showcase them!
